Perhaps you are wondering why the website is called Buffalo Spirit Gifts?
When I was growing up my family never failed to recieve “gifts” from my Grandmother, and other family in Buffalo Narrows, hand made moccasins, mukluks, from hide tanned by Grandma, beadwork, dry meat and fish and berries. There didn’t have to be an reason for a parcel, and they would come from North as wonderful surprises. The packages were always a joy to recieve, but the best gift of all was the Traditional knowledge that Grandma passed on to me during summers spent with her as a youth.
I think, my Pride in being Metis started with my Grandma and that was perhaps the greatest gift she ever gave me. She was strong, and humble, and wise, and she has provided me with “inspiration”, “spirit within” that has helped to make me who I am today. Bev
